About me

The Learning Comes Now is about realizing your power to release guilt and shame from past mistakes by understanding that all we have is right now. Don’t waste another second worrying about the past. The learning comes now. Peace comes now. I hope that I can inspire you to set yourself free as you follow my journey of letting go of the past and finding my true authentic self.

πŸ‘‹Hey there! I'm Elisha

I’m 34 years old. I live in Upstate South Carolina with my husband James, teenage daughter Abbi, tween son Jude, and toddler Remington. I love reading, writing, and playing outdoors with my family.

I love to tell the story about my great-grandfather P.C Merrell, the man that Zig Ziglar, a great American author, and motivational Speaker, gives credit to for mentoring him and changing his life.

See a video of Zig Ziglar telling the story here!

I often feel like P.C is up there giving me strength to tell my story.

For most of my life I struggled to love myself and make good decisions for myself. I grew tired of living with myself and feeling like I was never moving forward. And one day I heard the words, The Learning Comes Now, and it felt like a weight had been lifted. Dwelling on the past keeps us stuck there. Once we accept that we didn’t have the capacity back then to make the right choice, but now we do, we give ourselves our power back.

Please join me on my authentic journey from fear, guilt, shame, people-pleasing, and self-loathing to one of love, joy, peace, and freedom!

Riding the waves of humanness

Some days I feel so elevated, joyful, and at peace. God feels almost tangible and close, and I can easily see the miracles of everyday life. I can feel things coming into alignment and have a knowing that everything is going to work out just right. It's almost like having a Love filter for everyone and everything! 😍 But then on some days the reality of my humanness kicks in and I feel moody and low, like everyone is out to get me, and there's a dark cloud over everything. 🎢 "Hello darkness my old friend." 🎢  It's actually taken me longer than I'd like to admit to realize that it's normal to have lowes. I used to want to fix myself so that I could stay in that elevated state all the time. But being alive in this body comes with all the feels. And maybe we need the contrast in order to make better decisions for ourselves. Sometimes we just have to ride the waves of humanness. 🌊 However, If there is a way around this I'd love to know! 😜 Sidenote: I t...

The search is over!

Whole life is a search for beauty. But, when the beauty is found inside, the search ends and a beautiful journey begins. Harshit Walia Man, O man.  The amount of time I have spent searching and seeking outside of myself for something to get me to some impossible pinnacle of peace and love. Relentless amounts of hours have gone into reading books, going to church, listening to podcasts, and following people who seemed like they had the answers.  I looked to other people for validation and outside substances to fill the void.  I was always restless.  I'm exhausted now just thinking about it. I realize now that until I stopped searching outside of myself for peace and love, I would never have it. Everything we are searching for is already inside of us. We are divine and powerful. If you are feeling lost, stay away from people and places that promote fear and separation. Get quiet and listen to your own intuition. Spend time in nature. Hug your pets. Let loving ac...
